Beneath Ahknoor is a fantasy roleplaying game that channels the spirit of old-school dungeon crawling using the Carved from Brindlewood system. Uncover the secrets of the mythic megadungeon buried beneath the ruins of Lost Ahknoor, beyond the edges of civilization. Every descent forces you to face weird horrors, desperate choices, and the rival factions that strive to rule the depths.

Each dungeon level is a mystery to resolve. As you cycle through four phases of play - Making Entry, Delving, Getting Out, and time Above Ground, you’ll uncover strange clues, confront traps and dangerous foes, and create the dungeon together. As you explore deeper, you’ll decide how to deal with the factions that hold power there: diplomacy, treachery, or open conflict. Every step fashions the story, every delve deepens the danger, and every encounter builds the world.

The playtest edition includes the basic rules needed to create characters collaboratively and begin your descent. Inside, you’ll find the core rules, a character sheet, player handouts, and guidance for shared worldbuilding. It currently uses several pieces of placeholder art that are in the public domain, these will be replaced and additional art will be added as I raise the funds to do so.

Your feedback will help shape this game as you and your players shape your own world Beneath Ahknoor. The playtest rules are available for free.
